Winter is underway! The fabrics that are usually worn to keep us warm and cozy are wool, silk, cashmere, and velvet. I love wearing all of these but my absolute favorite is velvet!

Every time I watch classic shows from the 80s and 90s such as Living Single, Saved By The Bell, Boy Meets World, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, The Nanny, and Martin, I was always delighted by the fashion. Especially the Velvet outfits!

Typically, the velvet dresses were worn with tights and heels or the velvet blouse would be paired with high-waisted jeans along with ankle boots. Absolutely cute and comfortable!

Ever since then, I said, ” I need some velvet in my closet!” Now, of course, it can be worn year-round. You might be thinking, “Really?!” Oh yes! For example, during the warmer months in the summer, you can opt for spaghetti tops and crop tops. My preferred time to eat velvet is during the colder months. Specifically, Fall and Winter.

Additionally, you can be casual or dressy with velvet. Three of the most popular velvet colors are red, green, and black. Black will probably be the first color that people will go for. I do understand as that is one of my favorite colors. As is red. However, green is actually the first color I go for when it comes to the cold weather!

Here are 17 velvet outfits to add to your closet:

  1. Velvet Belted Dress

2. Velvet Off-Shoulder Gown

3. Open Back Velvet Dress

4. One-shoulder Velvet dress

5.  A-line Velvet dress

6. Velvet Sheath Gown

7. Velvet Drape Gown

8. Velvet Halter Gown

9. Velvet knee-length dress

12. Velvet One-Shoulder Gown

13. Velvet wide leg jumpsuit

14. Velvet mermaid bodycon dress

15. Velvet Keyhole dress

Welcome [ Akwaaba ]

The year was 2020 and I had intentions of traveling to multiple countries and states. Unfortunately, once the Coronavirus came about, I decided to get rid of that idea. Thankfully, I was able to travel via cruise before the lockdown. So, where did I go? Mexico!

I was very excited because that was one of the countries on my list to visit. Plus, I had not been out of the country in quite a long time. The trip was much needed and I have intentions of going back with my beautiful family—my husband and baby boy!

While on the trip, I donned some very cute outfits (if I do say so myself). They weren’t over the top but still simple & lovely. In case the look is too simple for you, one of these will add a little boost. With that being said, check out the looks from Mexico below!

Have. great day!

Ah yes…The cold weather! 😶 As with all the seasons, I have love/ hate relationships with the Fall & Winter. Why? Well, one moment it can be a cool 60-70s degrees. After a couple of blinks, it’s in the 30s-40s. Really?? Pick one!

Nevertheless, I prefer when the temperature is in the 70s-early 80s. It isn’t too hot or too cold even. Besides, there is a  nice breeze throughout the day while the sun shines. I  Love it.😎

As we are in the last few days of the Fall season, I wanted to give some fashion inspo. Sometimes we are unsure of how things will look together.  Well, I managed to put four outfits together with…one bodysuit. The color I chose was red because it is one of my favorite colors. However, any color or bodysuit could work.

Even though this wardrobe is mainly targeted towards chilly/ slightly cold weather, they can also be worn in the lukewarm winter days or springtime.

Not to mention, the outfits are cute, affordable and perfect for trips. If you are traveling and want to pack lightly, these outfits are great! ; You won’t have to worry about paying for luggage. As a result, it can save money! On the other hand, if you are going on a road trip, you may not want to worry about heavy baggage. I surely try to dodge that situation.

These outfits can be worn to places such as the club, lounge, brunch, and lunch.

*There are similar beautiful skirts at www.shopbesida.com. The one pictured is currently unavailable.

One more thing I would like to say is I have had each article of clothing for at least 3 months. I have not experienced any shrinkage. So, they can last a good while. 😅

Which bodysuit outfit is your favorite? Let me know in the comments.

Thanks ( Medase! )

On a chilly October night, me and some of my girlfriends got together to celebrate the birthday of one of our dear friends, Sabrina! It was a late birthday dinner but better late than never! All of us could not be present which was a bit sad. Hopefully, we can all get together soon.

We linked up at Eclipse Di Luna for a few drinks and tapas. Here, we engaged in some catching up and shared some laughs. What’s a link-up without those two things, right?

With that being said, it’s always nice to be able to link up with your friends, especially since adulting can make that a bit tough.

Per the request of the birthday girl, she wanted us to be cute…well extra cute. 😎😅 Might I say, that we were that…and more! 😆 Check us out as we give effortless slays! 👌🏿 Yes! Each one of us!

It was a low-key yet funny vibe which is almost always perfect if you ask me! We were having such a delightful time that we weren’t even keeping track of time.😅

Plus, everyone, including the birthday girl, was enjoying themselves; That made us happy as well! 😊🧡

Also, if you are looking for a Spanish place in Buckhead with reasonably priced beverages and tapas, Eclipse Di Luna is a place you should check out! It’s good for date nights, dinners as well as brunch. Vegan and vegetarian options are also available. Oh! There is also a Dunwoody location. 🙂

As the weather has seemingly gotten cooler ( for now), I decided to share one of my favorite fall must-haves. Some people prefer trenchcoats, ponchos, scarves, or hats. Now, I really like those as well but my absolute favorite fall must-have is A JACKET.

It doesn’t matter which kind of jacket it is, I will most likely wear it (if it looks good on me of course!) However, the jackets that I tend to admire are denim and [faux] leather. They keep me warm and are classic! Either one of those will pair wonderfully with another piece of clothing; whether it’s casual Friday at work or school.

Not only that, but it’s also a great choice accessory for brunch, lunch, or dinner. So, if you wanted to wear a simple bodysuit, high-waisted jeans, and boots all you would need to do is add the jacket. Voila! Cute and comfortable!

Check out a few of my looks and hey! maybe it can even give you some inspiration for this Fall season 🙂
